2011 Chrysler Town & Country

The 2011 Chrysler Town & Country is extensively updated with revised styling, a revamped cockpit, and the most powerful V-6 in the minivan class. The changes aim to keep the 2011 Town & Country competitive with the fully redesigned 2011 Honda Odyssey and 2011 Toyota Sienna. The 2011 Town & Country remains the upscale version of the 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan, which is similarly updated. They share powertrains and seven-seat interior layouts -- and both lose the option of Chrysler’s Swivel ’n Go table-and-chairs arrangement. Town & Country is more expensive than comparable versions the Grand Caravan, making the Chrysler the smarter choice mostly if you’re brand-conscious. Both are family rooms on wheels, just in different neighborhoods.

As consumers flock toward more models with better fuel economy, small SUVs are becoming more popular. So far, 21.4 percent more small SUVs have been sold in 2011 compared to this time in 2010. That means that car companies don’t have to offer a lot of incentives on their small SUVs and crossovers, but in June VW is offering zero-percent financing for up to 60 months on a new Tiguan. That beats the 1.9 percent financing Honda is offering on the CR-V, and the Tiguan is more fun to drive.

Gert was born as Gertrud Valesca Samosch in Berlin to a Jewish family. She was the eldest daughter of manufacturer Theodor Samosch and Augusta Rosenthal. Exhibiting no interest in academics or office work, Gert began taking dance lessons at the age of nine. This, combined with her love of ornate fashion, led her to a career in dance and performance art. In 1915, she studied acting with Maria Moissi.

Filmography Ed Lauter - Movies

World War I had a negative effect on her father's finances, forcing Gert to rely on herself far more than other bourgeois daughters typically might. As World War I raged on, Gert joined a Berliner dance group and created revolutionary satirical dance.

Actor Ed Lauter

In 1916, Gert made her dance debut in a Berlin movie house, performing between movie reels. The same year, she began acting at the Munich Kammerspiele. Following engagements at the Deutsches Theater and the Tribüne in Berlin, Gert was invited to perform in expressionist plays in Dadaist mixed media art nights. Her performances in Oskar Kokoschka's Hiob (1918), Ernst Toller's Transformation (1919), and Frank Wedekind's Franziska earned her popularity.
